David Dehority retired after 28 years in Law Enforcement. During my career, I have taught at various schools and ages about the importance of not drinking, driving, and wearing seatbelts. I received many letters of recognition and commendations from inside and outside the police department. Out of high school, served in the United States Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Sergeant, and was selected to drive for a Commanding General before Operations Desert Shield and Storm.
I have been married to Sally Dehority for 33 years and raised three children attending public schools. One of them is now a public school teacher working in special education. One is an emergency room nurse, and the other is waiting to join the Marine Corps.
I am the youngest of six siblings. Two of my siblings are retired from teaching in the public school system. Furthermore, I have two in-laws who are teachers, one retired and one still working in the public school system.
I obtained a degree in business management during my career and started in the teacher education program at Rio Salado. During the training, I was in a high school classroom, spoke with teachers, and learned many needs for the classroom.

No person or department in our district is more important than the students themselves. Let's be honest and focus on them, not ourselves.
