I’m Nick Tuley, QC resident for 4 years now. I’m uniquely qualified to serve the community I love as a QCUSD Board member, as I am a product of the public education system, a college graduate and someone who has signed both sides of the check as a former business owner. I know the difficulties of a poor education system that can limit the opportunities for our graduates, and still remember what was valuable in my public education.
I am a project engineer for the largest landscape development company in the nation. I dreamed big in order to get to where I am now, and I will work tirelessly to see to it that our graduates can have equally big dreams and opportunities, such as the ones that have been afforded to me.
Though I may have no children of my own, I am a recent product of the “common core” education system, and I understand the detrimental impacts that these types of curricula have on our students, which in turn, impacts our community. Politics has no place in our schools, and QCUSD needs a governing board that is dedicated to truly preparing our students for the world that lies ahead of them, rather than being dedicated to indoctrinating them with a political agenda.
Teachers make ‘the difference!’ Have you ever looked back at your education and said, that Superintendent I will never forget? Doubtful. However, we can all recall teachers who made a difference in our lives. We must remember this and reward those who make the difference in QC.
A quality education builds confidence and self-worth. It supports the independent nature of America was founded upon and the entrepreneurial spirit that has kept our country the shinning light on the hill.
